This river system has a few good paddling stretches and the River Bend Campground to Carlton section is one of them. before you come because it is a very popular destination. The River Bend Campground to Carlton section of Methow River is 54 miles long and it is classified as a class II(III) section by American Whitewater. Now this is a pretty long section, perfect for a real wilderness adventure.
The river winds through the Northern Cascade Range and you get great scenery. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this area has a large number of paddling spots. Getting your paddling muscles activated and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great attractions for lots of people.
Briefly about the general area: Methow River is frequently a rather dried up location; the month with most of the snow is December; July meanwhile is the driest month. At Methow River through the long summer days highs are
in the 80's with night lows in the 50's. Through the winter highs are mostly in the 20's, and after the sun is down all through the wintertime temperatures at Methow River fall into the 10's.
