If you're coming from Wenatchee it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, as you can see on the road map further down. The nature scenery of Okanogan County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water beats anything. This section of Methow River is 9.5 miles long and is a class II section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. This stretch has has enough     mileage, it's good length for a morning trip. The campgrounds here at Methow River are pretty good. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of places for that. A good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors will have you coming back for more. The Northern Cascade Range scenery is wonderful. There are some good sections to paddle in this river system, the Carlton to McFarland Creek access section is one of them. Briefly about the general area: Through the summer months at Methow River highs are frequently in the 80's. Throughout the moonlight hours it's generally in the 40's. During the winter the highs are typically in the 20's while Methow River nighttime   low temperatures all through the wintertime are in the 10's. At Methow River you don’t see much rain; throughout the month of December you get the most snow around here while July is frequently the driest month.
