CLASS IV 4.8 miles
To shallow - to rocky - no water!! Says Dave Devone
The East Fork to NE Old Cascade Highway section of Miller River in King County is 4.8 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class IV section. The scenic beauty of King County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream beats anything. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Washington tend to be more challenging than the national average, so better not forget that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. The beautiful Northern Cascade Range scenery is an
added bonus. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling rivers. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. This stretch is mid length, it's good length for a morning trip. A bit of exercise and
just being out on the river for a while have people coming from far and near. There are a few other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick.
