Washington whitewater - Mineral Creek, Northern Cascade Range, Lewis County
Lewis
county,
North Fork to Alder Lake section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.
CLASS II 5.5 miles
The average Washington whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be harder to run than those in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that many runs in this state are not easy. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good spots. The North Fork to Alder Lake section of Mineral Creek in Washington is 5.5 miles long and is a class II section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. This is a pretty decent length section, suitable for an afternoon trip. A bit of exercise and just being out
on the river for a while will make you glad you came. The wonderful Lewis County scenery and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. The North Fork to Alder Lake section is one of a few paddling sections in this river
system. The Northern Cascade Range scenery is wonderful. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem and if you make reservations in advance you're all set.
