No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good spots. The North Fork to Alder Lake section of Mineral Creek in Washington is 5.5 miles long and is a class II section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. This is a pretty decent length section, suitable for an afternoon trip. A bit of exercise and just being out     on the river for a while will make you glad you came. The wonderful Lewis County scenery and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. The North Fork to Alder Lake section is one of a few paddling sections in this river system. The Northern Cascade Range scenery is wonderful. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Briefly about the general area: Mineral Creek gets a typical amount of rain; the wettest month of the year is mostly November, that's the one that rains the most, and July is when it's the driest. At Mineral Creek through the long summer days highs are in the 70's. When the night   sets in temperatures sink down into the 50's. High temperatures through the wintertime are normally in the 40's, and after the sun is down throughout the wintertime temperatures at Mineral Creek sink into the 30's.
