The average Washington whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master than those in other states, so if you're not from around here don't forget that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. This section of Muddy River in Skamania County is 5.5 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class II-III(IV) section of whitewater. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. The beautiful Northern Cascade
Range scenery is an added bonus. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you'll find lots of paddling rivers. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. On this section you do get some distance, it's good length for a morning trip. Getting
your paddling muscles activated and spending some quality time in nature have a lot of people coming here. Muddy River doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the FR 25 Bridge to Lewis North Fork stretch is the only one. The scenic beauty of Skamania County and the water flowing gracefully down Muddy River will make you feel great.

the 40's while Muddy River night low temperatures through the wintertime are in the 30's. Muddy River gets a large amount of water; the month of December is the wettest with most of the rain while July is commonly the driest month. If the weather is brilliant here at Muddy
River, you can go for a hike along the Muddy River Trail, and on a good day you can take a hike along the Smith Creek Butte Trail. Yep, outdoors exciting stuff truly is bountiful here in the Northern Cascade Range.
