The starting location is a reasonable drive from Ellensburg, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. The nature scenery of Yakima County and the cool fresh water attract people from near and far. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling rivers. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but do book     a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. The beauty of the Northern Cascade Range is a great plus for this river. A section like this is is of course not run in a single day, so it looks like you will be camping out. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside Washington you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so don't forget that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. There are no other stretches to paddle along Naches River than the Sawmill Flat to bl. Town of Naches stretch. There's camping available near Naches River. A bit of exercise and just being out on the river for a while have people coming from far and near. Briefly about the general area: If you want a good time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Northern Cascade Range. Naches River is regularly   a rather waterless place; during the month of December you get the most snow around here, and the driest month of the year is July. Box Spring is always fun to check out; while you're here, you might as well stop by Nile Valley. During the summer at Naches River highs are frequently in the 80's while nighttime lows are typically in the 50's.
