The Berne to Merritt stretch of Nason Creek is 8 miles long and is a class IV-V section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. This river system has a few good paddling sections and the Berne to Merritt section is one of them. The Northern Cascade Range scenery is wonderful. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Getting some good exercise and spending some quality time in nature are great reasons to come. you'll find a large number of good rivers. This is a pretty decent length section, it's perfect for a one day trip. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often tougher than in other states, so better
