The put-in is not too far from Mount Vernon-Anacortes, as you can see on the road map further down. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Washington are often tougher than in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. This is a pretty decent length section, it's perfect for a one day trip. The Nooksack Falls to Douglas Fir Campground stretch is one of many paddling stretches in this river system. The Northern Cascade Range scenery is wonderful. Not too many hotels nearby,
you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. Getting your paddling muscles activated and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great reasons to
come. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots. This section of Nooksack River - North Fork is 4.9 miles long and has been rated as a class IV+ section by American Whitewater. The wonderful Washington scenery and the water flowing gracefully down Nooksack River - North Fork are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle.
