This section of Ohanepecosh River in Washington is 4.7 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class V section of whitewater. A good workout and spending some quality time in nature are sure to keep you coming back for more. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Washington are often more challenging than in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking,
either way this is an area with plenty of places for that. The Northern Cascade Range scenery is wonderful. This stretch has has enough mileage, you can easily run it on an afternoon. The Ohanepecosh Campground to La Wis Wis Campground section is the only paddling section along
Ohanepecosh River. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. The wonderful Lewis County scenery and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water have people coming here.
Briefly about the general area: If you come to this river you will have a good time for sure. Ohanepecosh River sees pretty high levels of rainfall; throughout the month of January you get the most snow around here, and the driest month is July. High temperatures at Ohanepecosh
River during the summer months are in the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures plunge down into the 40's. The winter comes with highs in the 30's, and throughout the dark hours in the winter at Ohanepecosh River temperatures dip to the 20's. A spree to Grant Purcell Falls
will fill your soul with tremendous feelings, and Ayance Canyon is nearby, and is a nice place. Now, you may believe that's heaps but there's even more entertaining stuff to do here in the Northern Cascade Range. Don't leave Ohanepecosh River without first paying a visit to Ohanapecosh Hot Springs, and if you're here you can take a hike along the Backbone Ridge Trail.
