The nature scenery of Lewis County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water beats anything. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so you'd better keep in mind that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. The starting point is not too far from Centralia, as you can see on the road map further down. The Annonen Road to Cowlitz River section of Olequa Creek in Washington is 6.5 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II+ section. For all you camping
people there are campgrounds nearby. This stretch is mid length, you can easily run it on an afternoon. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots. There aren’t any hotels right
nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. The Annonen Road to Cowlitz River stretch is the only paddling stretch along Olequa Creek. Great exercise and spending some quality time in nature are great reasons to come. The river winds through the Olympic Mountains and you get great scenery.
Briefly about the general area: All the water falling down from the sky makes Olequa Creek a wet location; through December this area sees the most rain, and July on the other
hand is the driest. Summertime highs at Olequa Creek frequently tend to be in the 70's. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 50's. Through the winter the highs are typically in the 40's, and nighttime lows in the 30's for Olequa Creek.
