The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often tougher than in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you'll find lots of paddling rivers. Olequa Creek     doesn't have a lot of paddling sections, the Annonen Road to Cowlitz River section is the only one. The beauty of the Olympic Mountains is a great plus for this river. If you're coming from Centralia it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. This stretch of Olequa Creek in Lewis County is 6.5 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II+ section. This stretch is mid length, you can easily run it on an afternoon. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while are great attractions for lots of people. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. Briefly about the general area: Olequa Creek sees pretty high levels of rain; December is the month that gets the most rain, and July is   the month with the least moisture. Throughout the months of summer here at Olequa Creek, high temperatures typically reach the 70's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. During the winter highs are typically in the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 30's to Olequa Creek.
