Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Washington is often tougher than elsewhere, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere. This is a pretty decent length section, suitable for an afternoon trip. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just hanging out with mother nature will have you coming back for more. This river system has a few good paddling stretches and the Palouse Falls State Park to Lyons Ferry State Park     section is one of them. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are not so many other good places for that around here. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. The Palouse Falls State Park to Lyons Ferry State Park section of Palouse River is 4 miles long and it is classified as a class II section by American Whitewater. Briefly about the general area: High temperatures at Palouse River throughout the warm days of summer are in the 80's while night lows are frequently in the 50's. Daytime highs throughout the wintertime are in the 30's while Palouse River nighttime low temperatures through the winter are in the 20's. A short tour to Palouse Falls   is always worthwhile; a delightful site close by is Winn Lake Canyon. It is very dehydrated here at Palouse River typically; the month with most of the snow is December, and July meanwhile is the driest month. Falls Spring is a beautiful location to go to while you're at Palouse River.
