CLASS IV 4.4 miles
This section of Pilchuck Creek is 4.4 miles long and has been rated as a class IV section by American Whitewater. The wonderful Snohomish County scenery and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water make the trip here worthwhile. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while have people coming from far and near. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Washington tend to be more challenging than the national average, so you'd better keep in mind that many runs in this state are not easy. This is a pretty decent length section, it's good
length for a morning trip. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Whitewater paddling here in the Northern Cascade Range is a great experience. Since
you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of rivers for that. This river system is full of great paddling sections, the Lake Cavanaugh Road to Pilchuck Creek Campsite section is just one of them.
