Snohomish
county,
Lake Cavanaugh Road to Pilchuck Creek Campsite section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.
CLASS IV 4.4 miles
The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often tougher than in other states, so don't forget that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Mount Vernon-Anacortes, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. Whitewater paddling here in the Northern Cascade Range is a great experience. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good spots for that around here. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance
then no problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. The natural beauty of Snohomish County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. A bit of exercise and just being out on the river for a
while have people coming from far and near. This stretch of Pilchuck Creek in Snohomish County is 4.4 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class IV section. There are plenty of other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. This is a pretty decent length section, good for a one day paddling trip.
