The Highway 9 Bridge to I-5 Bridge stretch of Pilchuck Creek in Snohomish County is 6.1 miles long and is a class II-III section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The natural beauty of Snohomish County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream have people coming here. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, suitable for an afternoon trip. There are nice comfortable hotels here, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just
hanging out with mother nature will make you glad you came. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. There are plenty of other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or
kayaking, either way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling places. The average Washington whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be harder to run than those in other states, so if you're not from around here don't forget that rivers here are less forgiving. The starting point is not too far from Mount Vernon-Anacortes, as you can see on the road map further down.
