The Niesson Creek to Electron section of Puyallup River in Washington is 9 miles long and has been rated as a class IV+ section by American Whitewater. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often more difficult than elsewhere, so don't forget that rivers here are less forgiving. The starting point is not too far from Seattle-Tacoma-Bellevue, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. This is a pretty decent length section, it's good length for a morning trip. The river winds through the Northern Cascade Range
and you get great scenery. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. The natural beauty of Washington and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water make
the trip here worthwhile. There are some good stretches to paddle in this river system, the Niesson Creek to Electron stretch is one of them. There's camping available near Puyallup River. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling places. Great exercise and just hanging out with mother nature have a lot of people coming here.
Briefly about the general area: From a rainfall point of view Puyallup River is a rather common spot; through November this area sees the most
rain, and July meanwhile is the driest month. During the days of summer highs here at Puyallup River get into the 70's. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 50's. Through the winter the highs are frequently in the 40's while Puyallup River nighttime low temperatures throughout the winter are in the 30's.
