The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Seattle-Tacoma-Bellevue, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. The McMillin to Puyallup section of Puyallup River in Pierce County is 6.1 miles long and is a class I-II section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. Getting a good workout and spending some quality time in nature are great attractions for lots of people. There are plenty of hotels here if you want to     spend a night, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. There's camping available near Puyallup River. On this section you do get some distance, it's good length for a morning trip. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside Washington you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so if you're not from around here don't forget that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling spots. Briefly about the general area: The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 70's to Puyallup River. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 40's while Puyallup River night low temperatures through the wintertime are in the 30's. Wildwood   Spring is a glorious local attraction.
