The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often tougher than in other states, so don't forget that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. The wild scenery of the Northern Cascade Range is great. The Snaggletooth Creek to Lewis River section of Quartz Creek is 5 miles long and it is classified as a class IV-V+ section by American Whitewater. The beautiful scenery of Washington and the cool fresh water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. Getting your paddling
muscles activated and just being out on the river for a while are great reasons to come. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good spots. This stretch has has enough mileage, you can easily run it on an afternoon.
You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. There are no other stretches to paddle along Quartz Creek than the Snaggletooth Creek to Lewis River stretch.
