If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside Washington you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so keep in mind that the rivers in this state are less manageable. The put-in is not too far from Aberdeen, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. This stretch has has enough mileage, it's good length for a morning trip.     A good workout and spending some quality time in nature have people coming from far and near. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good spots for that around here. The beautiful Olympic Mountains scenery is an added bonus. This river system has a few good paddling stretches and the Cannings Creek to South Shore Road access section is one of them. This stretch of Quinault River is 6.5 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class II section of whitewater. Briefly about the general area: For the duration of the months of summer at Quinault River temperatures are ordinarily in the 70's with nighttime lows in the 40's. During the wintertime this place   gets highs in the 40's with winter lows in the 30's overnight here at Quinault River. If you wish for a little side spree, try Fletcher Canyon. All the water falling down from the sky makes Quinault River a wet place; through the month of December you get the most rain around here, and July on the other hand is the driest.
