The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Washington are often tougher than in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. The nature scenery of Jefferson County and the playfulness of the water make the trip here worthwhile. The starting point is not too far from Port Angeles, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. This is a short paddling stretch so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over. There are some good sections to paddle in this river system,
the Geoduck Creek to Kimta Creek section is one of them. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this is an area with plenty of rivers for that. The wild scenery of the Olympic Mountains is great. There's camping available near Quinault River
- North Fork. Getting a good workout and just being out on the river for a while have people coming from far and near. This stretch of Quinault River - North Fork in Washington is 3 miles long and it is classified as a class V section by American Whitewater. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car.
