The put-in is not too far from Seattle-Tacoma-Bellevue, as you can see on the road map further down. The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master in this state than those in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that rivers here are less forgiving. The nature scenery of Washington and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream attract people from near and far. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots. On this section you
do get some distance, suitable for an afternoon trip. Whitewater paddling here in the Northern Cascade Range is a great experience. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. Raging River doesn't have a lot of paddling sections, the Preston to Fall City section
is the only one. This stretch of Raging River in King County is 5 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class III+ section. Getting a good workout and spending some quality time in nature are sure to keep you coming back for more. There are plenty of hotels here if you want to spend a night, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set.
Briefly about the general area: Throughout the months of summer, highs mostly are in the 70's at Raging River; the overnight is quite cooler of course, generally in the 50's. All through
the wintertime highs are commonly in the 40's, and overnight lows through the winter for Raging River tend to be in the 30's. Interesting geology is available here; Teaters Bluff is near Raging River. A normal amount of rainfall falls here at Raging River; the wettest month of the year is regularly December, that's the one that rains the most, and July is the month with the least moisture.
