The scenic beauty of Washington and the water flowing gracefully down Rattlesnake Creek make the trip here worthwhile. The mile 3 to White Salmon section of Rattlesnake Creek in Washington is 3 miles long and is a class IV(V) section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. This is a pretty short section so no need to bring snacks. The put-in location is a short drive from Hood River, as you can see on the road map further down. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more demanding, so if you're
visiting here do keep in mind that many runs in this state are not easy. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Getting some good exercise and
just being out on the river for a while will have you coming back for more. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good places. This is the only paddling stretch along Rattlesnake Creek. Whitewater paddling here in the Northern Cascade Range is a great experience. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby.
