Washington whitewater - Rattlesnake Creek, Northern Cascade Range, Klickitat County
Klickitat
county,
mile 3 to White Salmon section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.
CLASS IV(V) 3 miles
The scenic beauty of Washington and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. The mile 3 to White Salmon section of Rattlesnake Creek in Klickitat County is 3 miles long and is a class IV(V) section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. This section is quite short so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. The beautiful Northern Cascade Range scenery is an added bonus. Great exercise and just hanging out with mother nature are sure to keep you coming
back for more. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of places for that. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but if you don’t have reservations
you might end up sleeping in your car. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more challenging than the national average, so keep in mind that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere. Rattlesnake Creek doesn't have a lot of paddling sections, the mile 3 to White Salmon section is the only one. The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Hood River, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that.
