The wonderful Washington scenery and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream make the trip here worthwhile. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often tougher than in other states, so keep in mind that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere. The West Boundary Road Bridge to Q-100 Bridge stretch of Salmon River in Washington is 8.2 miles long and is a class II(IV) section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. This is the only paddling stretch along Salmon River. There aren’t any hotels right
nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good spots for that around here. Getting a good workout and spending some quality time
in nature have people coming from far and near. On this section you do get some distance, it's good length for a morning trip. Whitewater paddling here in the Olympic Mountains is a great experience. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby.
Briefly about the general area: Summer at Salmon River comes with high temperatures in the 70's. For the duration of the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 40's. High temperatures through the wintertime are normally in the 40's; nighttime lows at Salmon River during the wintertime
commonly dip into the 30's. All the water falling down from the sky makes Salmon River a wet place; of all the months in a year December is the one with the most rain, and the driest of the months is August.
