This stretch of Satsop River - East Fork in Mason County is 8.2 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II section. The put-in location is a short drive from Aberdeen, as you can see on the road map further down. There are so many stretches to paddle in this river     system, the Simpson Hatchery to Cook Creek stretch is just one of many. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Getting your paddling muscles activated and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great attractions for lots of people. Whitewater paddling here in the Olympic Mountains is a great experience. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Washington is often tougher than elsewhere, so if you're not from around here don't forget that rivers here are less forgiving.
