The scenic beauty of Washington and the water flowing gracefully down Satsop River - East Fork attract people from near and far. This is a pretty decent length section, it's perfect for a     one day trip. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Getting your paddling muscles activated and spending some quality time in nature will make you glad you came. This stretch of Satsop River - East Fork in Mason County is 8.2 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II section. The put-in is not too far from Aberdeen, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. The river winds through the Olympic Mountains and you get great scenery. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good spots. This river system is full of great paddling stretches, the Simpson Hatchery to Cook   Creek stretch is just one of them.
