The nature scenery of Washington and the cool fresh water have people coming here. If you're coming from Shelton it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. There are so many stretches to paddle in this river system, the Walter Creek to Baker Creek stretch is just one of many. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop     paddle, good for a one day paddling trip. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good spots for that around here. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Washington is often more difficult than elsewhere, so keep in mind that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. A bit of exercise and just being out on the river for a while will have you coming back for more. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick.
