  The nature scenery of Snohomish County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream will make you feel great. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good places for that around here. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. There are so many stretches to paddle in this river system, the Bedal Campground to Whitechuck River stretch is just one of many. Great exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great reasons to
    come. On this section you do get some distance, it's good length for a morning trip. There's camping available near Sauk River. The beauty of the Northern Cascade Range is a great plus for this river. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Washington tend to be more challenging
than the national average, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that the rivers in this state are less manageable. This section of Sauk River in Snohomish County is 8.3 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II-III section.

Sauk River is a wet site that gets a good deal of precipitation; most of the rain falls throughout November; the driest month of the year is July. For the period of the long summer days here at Sauk River, high temperatures generally reach the 70's. Through the dark hours
 
of summer temperatures drop down into the 50's. High temperatures through the wintertime are normally in the 40's, and night lows at Sauk River during the wintertime commonly sink into the 20's.
