The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Washington are often tougher than in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that a large number of rivers in this state are not easy. The beautiful scenery of Snohomish County and the water flowing gracefully down Sauk River are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. Great exercise and spending some quality time in nature will have you coming back for more. There are so many stretches to paddle in this river system, the Whitechuck River to Clear Creek stretch is just one of many.
This section of Sauk River in Washington is 7 miles long and has been rated as a class III+(IV) section by American Whitewater. The wild scenery of the Northern Cascade Range is great. This is a pretty decent length section, it's perfect for a one day trip. There aren’t any hotels
right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way there are lots of good places for that around here. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby.
