The Whitechuck River to Clear Creek stretch of Sauk River in Washington is 7 miles long and it is classified as a class III+(IV) section by American Whitewater. Whitewater paddling here in the Northern Cascade Range is a great experience. There are plenty of other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. This is a pretty decent length section, suitable for an afternoon trip. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master in this state than
those in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that the rivers in this state are less manageable. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. The natural beauty of Washington
