The scenic beauty of Washington and the water flowing gracefully down Sauk River are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good places for that around here. The beautiful Northern Cascade Range scenery is an added bonus. Getting a good workout and just being out on the river for a while have people coming
from far and near. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. This stretch is long enough for an overnight trip if you take your time, so pack your camp stove.

Briefly about the general area: Sauk River is a wet site that gets lots of rainfall; the month with most of the rain is November, and July on the other hand is the driest. At Sauk River through the summer highs are in the 70's, and through
summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. Through the winter this place gets highs in the 40's; night lows through the wintertime for Sauk River tend to be in the 30's.
