Washington whitewater - Silver Creek, Northern Cascade Range, Lewis County Lewis county, Lynx Creek to Mary Kiona Park section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.   CLASS V     4.5 miles   If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more demanding, so you'd better keep in mind that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. The beautiful scenery of Lewis County and the water flowing gracefully down Silver Creek attract people from near and far. The Lynx Creek to Mary Kiona Park section of Silver Creek is 4.5 miles long and it is classified as a class V section by American Whitewater. Getting some good exercise and just hanging out with mother nature will have you coming back for more. Not too     many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. Silver Creek doesn't have a lot of paddling sections, the Lynx Creek to Mary Kiona Park section is the only one. This stretch is mid length, it's good length for a morning trip. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots. The river winds through the Northern Cascade Range and you get great scenery. Briefly about the general area: During the warm months at Silver Creek highs are frequently in the 70's. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 40's. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 40's while Silver Creek overnight low   temperatures through the winter are in the 30's. Much precipitation falls at Silver Creek; most of the rain falls during December, and the driest of the months is July.
