Getting your paddling muscles activated and just hanging out with mother nature are great reasons to come. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way there are lots of good spots for that around here. When you're paddling down a Northern Cascade Range river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. Whitewater     rafting and kayaking in this state is often more difficult than elsewhere, so if you're not from around here don't forget that rivers here are less forgiving. The beautiful scenery of Lewis County and the water flowing gracefully down Silver Creek attract people from near and far. On this section you do get some distance, you can easily run it on an afternoon. The Lynx Creek to Mary Kiona Park section is the only paddling section along Silver Creek. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Briefly about the general area: All through the warmest time of the year, highs frequently are in the 70's at Silver Creek. Summer overnight lows drop down to the 40's. For the period of the wintertime highs are usually   in the 40's, and after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at Silver Creek plunge into the 30's. The high level of precipitation makes Silver Creek a quite wet spot; December is the month that gets the most rain, and July is the month with the least moisture.
