This section of Siouxon Creek in Clark County is 12 miles long and it is classified as a class III-V section by American Whitewater. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so better not forget that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. A good workout and spending some quality time in nature will have you coming back for more. The beauty of the Northern Cascade Range is a great plus for this river. Siouxon Creek doesn't have a lot of paddling sections, the
Calamity Creek to Yale Reservoir section is the only one. If you hurry you can run this section in a day but why not make it an overnighter, so pack your sleeping bag. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping
in your car. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you'll find lots of paddling rivers. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. The wonderful Washington scenery and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle.
Briefly about the general area: Siouxon Creek sees pretty high levels of rainfall; December is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest month of the year is July. Summer at Siouxon Creek comes with high temperatures in the 70's.
All through the dark hours of summer temperatures sink down into the 50's. For the duration of the wintertime this place gets highs in the 40's, and nighttime lows at Siouxon Creek during the winter regularly plunge into the 30's. While you're here at Siouxon Creek you can
take a hike along the Horseshoe Ridge Trail, and if the weather is great, you can go for a hike along the Siouxon Trail. Just can't get enough of the Northern Cascade Range.
