The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Washington are often tougher than in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere. The wonderful Washington scenery and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are reasons enough to come here and paddle. This section of Siouxon Creek is 12 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class III-V section of whitewater. If you have the time you can make this a two day trip, so why not pack your camping stuff too. Whitewater
paddling here in the Northern Cascade Range is a great experience. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, around here you'll find a large number of good spots. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. Getting a good workout and spending some
quality time in nature have a lot of people coming here. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. The Calamity Creek to Yale Reservoir stretch is the only paddling stretch along Siouxon Creek.
Briefly about the general area: There is a splendid hiking trail close to Siouxon Creek called the Horseshoe Ridge Trail; going for a hike on the Siouxon Trail is always a fine adventure. Siouxon Creek is a pretty wet place
usually with a good deal of precipitation; the month of December is the wettest with most of the rain while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation. That right there is plenty of cool things already but it goes on, the Northern Cascade Range has it all. Summertime
brings highs in the 70's to Siouxon Creek while overnight lows are frequently in the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 40's with temperatures at Siouxon Creek dipping down into the 30's during winter nights.
