Washington whitewater - Siouxon Creek, Northern Cascade Range, Clark County

Clark county, Calamity Creek to Yale Reservoir section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.

CLASS III-V     12 miles
The Calamity Creek to Yale Reservoir stretch of Siouxon Creek in Washington is 12 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class III-V section of whitewater. The average Washington whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master than those in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that the rivers in this state are less manageable. This section has enough mileage for an overnight trip, so go ahead and pack your camping stuff. Siouxon Creek doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the Calamity Creek to Yale Reservoir
stretch is the only one. A good workout and just being out on the river for a while are great reasons to come. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, there are lots of good places for that around here. If you're a camper you can camp at one of
the great campgrounds nearby. The nature scenery of Clark County and the cool fresh water attract people from near and far. The beauty of the Northern Cascade Range is a great plus for this river. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car.
