county,
Johnson Creek to Craig Road section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.
CLASS III+ 3.1 miles
The nature scenery of Washington and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water attract people from near and far. This is a somewhat short section so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over. The river winds through the Northern Cascade Range and you get great scenery. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling rivers. Getting a good workout and just being out on the river for a while will have you coming back for more. There are no other stretches to paddle along Skate Creek than the Johnson Creek
to Craig Road stretch. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often more difficult than elsewhere, so you'd better keep in mind that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. You might
have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. This stretch of Skate Creek in Lewis County is 3.1 miles long and it is classified as a class III+ section by American Whitewater.
