The nature scenery of Mason County and the playfulness of the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Washington are often tougher than in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. The Seven Stream to Staircase section of Skokomish River - North Fork in Washington is 5.6 miles long and is according to American Whitewater
a class V+ section of whitewater. The Olympic Mountains scenery is wonderful. There's camping available near Skokomish River - North Fork. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Getting some
good exercise and just hanging out with mother nature will have you coming back for more. This is a pretty decent length section, it's good length for a morning trip. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling places. There are a few other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well.
