Washington whitewater - Skykomish River, Northern Cascade Range, Snohomish County
Snohomish
county,
Railroad Bridge to Big Eddy section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.
CLASS II 2.5 miles
This section of Skykomish River is 2.5 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class II section of whitewater. The natural beauty of Washington and the cool fresh water will make you feel great. The average Washington whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be harder to run than those in other states, so better not forget that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. Getting your paddling muscles activated and a chance to spend some time outdoors are sure to keep you coming back for more. This stretch is short so you'd
better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good places. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, and if you make reservations
in advance you're all set. The river winds through the Northern Cascade Range and you get great scenery. This river system is full of great paddling sections, the Railroad Bridge to Big Eddy section is just one of them. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby.
