The beautiful scenery of Washington and the playfulness of the water have people coming here. This section of Skykomish River in Snohomish County is 16.2 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class I-II section. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. There are plenty of other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Whitewater rafting
and kayaking in this state is often more difficult than elsewhere, so better not forget that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. You can enjoy this section more if you take your time, so go ahead and pack your camp stove. Since you're on this site you are probably into

When you're paddling down a Northern Cascade Range river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too.
