Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Washington is often more difficult than elsewhere, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. The Bear Creek to South Fork confluence stretch of Skykomish River - North Fork is 12.5 miles long and it is classified as a class IV section by American Whitewater. The wonderful Snohomish County scenery and the cool fresh water attract people from near and far. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good places for that around here. The
beautiful Northern Cascade Range scenery is an added bonus. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. This section is long enough for an overnight trip if you take your time, so why not pack your camp stove too. The nearby hotels are a bit away from
the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Getting a good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors are sure to keep you coming back for more. There are so many sections to paddle in this river system, the Bear Creek to South Fork confluence section is just one of many.
