Washington whitewater - Soleduck River, Olympic Mountains, Clallam County Clallam county, Salmon Cascade to FR 2918 Bridge section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.   CLASS IV     3.1 miles   The starting location is a reasonable drive from Port Angeles, as you can see on the road map further down. This stretch of Soleduck River is 3.1 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class IV section. The beautiful scenery of Washington and the playfulness of the water attract people from near and far. The river winds through the Olympic Mountains and you get great scenery. A bit of exercise and spending some quality time in nature are sure to keep you coming back for more. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking     you might find the rivers here more demanding, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. There's camping available near Soleduck River. There are many good hotels to choose from, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. The Salmon Cascade to FR 2918 Bridge stretch is one of many paddling stretches in this river system. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling rivers. This is a pretty short section so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. Briefly about the general area: The warmest time of the year at Soleduck River comes with high temperatures in the 70's. Throughout the moonlight hours it's mostly in the 40's. For the period of the winter this place gets   highs in the 40's with winter lows in the 30's overnight here at Soleduck River. All the water falling down from the sky makes Soleduck River a wet place; the month of November is the wettest with most of the rain, and July is when it's the driest. On a fine day at Soleduck River you can take a hike along the Aurora Trail.
