The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Port Angeles, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. The beautiful scenery of Clallam County and the playfulness of the water attract people from near and far. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling rivers. A bit of exercise and just being out on the river for a while have a lot of people coming here. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. This is a pretty decent length section, it's
perfect for a one day trip. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often more difficult than elsewhere, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many runs in this state are not easy. There are plenty of other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as
well. Whitewater paddling here in the Olympic Mountains is a great experience. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. This section of Soleduck River in Washington is 6.3 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class III section of whitewater.
Briefly about the general area: At Soleduck River during the summertime months highs are in the 70's. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 40's.
The winter brings highs down to the 40's; night lows in the 30's for Soleduck River. Soleduck River frequently gets lots of rainfall; the wettest month of the year is regularly November, that's the one that rains the most, and July meanwhile is the driest month. A short visit to Beaver Falls is always worthwhile.
