The Sollecks Bridge to Clearwater Campground stretch of Solleks River in Washington is 6 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class III-IV section. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often more difficult than elsewhere, so don't forget that the rivers in this state are     less manageable. The Olympic Mountains scenery is wonderful. This is the only paddling section along Solleks River. The starting location is a short drive from Port Angeles, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. Great exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors have a lot of people coming here. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. This stretch has has enough mileage, you can easily run it on an afternoon. Briefly about the general area: All the water falling down from the sky makes Solleks River a wet place; most of the rain falls all through December; the driest month is August. Summer at Solleks River arrives with high temperatures in the 70's. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 40's.
