The natural beauty of Washington and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so you'd better keep in mind that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. Whitewater paddling here in the Northern Cascade Range is a great experience. Getting a good workout and just being out on the river for a while have people coming from far and near. If you're a camper you can
camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. The starting location is a reasonable drive from Seattle-Tacoma-Bellevue, as you can see on the road map further down. This stretch is mid length, suitable for an afternoon trip. The East Fork to Spiketon Road section is one of a few
paddling sections in this river system. Lodging is available near the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. The East Fork to Spiketon Road stretch of South Praire Creek in Pierce County is 6.6 miles long and has been rated as a class V section by American Whitewater. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling spots.
