The nature scenery of Washington and the cool fresh water make the trip here worthwhile. The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Seattle-Tacoma-Bellevue, as you can see on the road map further down. The Lower Burnett to above Carbon River section of South Praire Creek in Pierce County is 5.8 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class II+ section. There     are plenty of hotels here if you want to spend a night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, good for a one day paddling trip. There are some good sections to paddle in this river system, the Lower Burnett to above Carbon River section is one of them. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, in this general area you'll find lots of paddling places. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while are great attractions for lots of people. The wild scenery of the Northern Cascade Range is great.
