The Lower Burnett to above Carbon River stretch of South Praire Creek is 5.8 miles long and is a class II+ section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Washington are harder than the national norm, so better not forget that many runs in this state are not easy. The beautiful scenery of Washington and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream make the trip here worthwhile. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. There are some good hotels near the river, but if you don’t
have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just hanging out with mother nature are great reasons to come. This is a pretty decent length section, it's perfect for a one day trip. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking
or both, doesn't matter, around here you'll find a large number of good spots. When you're paddling down a Northern Cascade Range river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too.
