If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more demanding, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that rivers here are less forgiving. The scenic beauty of Washington and the water flowing gracefully down South Praire Creek attract people from near and far. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good places. There are plenty of hotels here if you want to spend a night, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. This stretch of South Praire Creek
in Pierce County is 5.8 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II+ section. There are a few other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. This is a pretty decent length section, it's perfect for a one day trip. The Northern Cascade Range scenery
is wonderful. A good workout and just being out on the river for a while have a lot of people coming here. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. The starting point is not too far from Seattle-Tacoma-Bellevue, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost.
