The wonderful Spokane County scenery and the water flowing gracefully down Spokane River will make you feel great. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Washington is often tougher than elsewhere, so if you're not from around here don't forget that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. This stretch of Spokane River in Spokane County is 5.5 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class II section.     Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way in this general area you won't find many other paddling rivers. A good workout and spending some quality time in nature will have you coming back for more. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, good for a one day paddling trip. If you'll be staying in a hotel you're in luck, lodging is available very near the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. The campgrounds here at Spokane River are pretty good. Briefly about the general area: Spokane River is pretty waterless frequently; during December this area sees the most snow while July is generally the driest month. Summertime highs at Spokane River mostly tend to be in the 80's; the overnight is somewhat chillier of course, frequently in the 50's.
