Washington whitewater - Stebbins Creek, Northern Cascade Range, Skamania County

Skamania county, to Washougal River section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.

CLASS IV-V(V+)     3 miles
Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Washington tend to be more challenging than the national average, so you'd better keep in mind that rivers here are less forgiving. The wonderful Washington scenery and the water flowing gracefully down Stebbins Creek are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. The wild scenery of the Northern Cascade Range is great. The to Washougal River section of Stebbins Creek in Skamania County is 3 miles long and has been rated as a class IV-V(V+) section by American Whitewater. There are campgrounds quite
near the river where you can camp. Getting a good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors have people coming from far and near. This is a bit of a short stretch so better bring some good walking shoes. There are no other sections to paddle along Stebbins Creek than the
to Washougal River section. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of rivers for that.

Briefly about the general area:
Stebbins Creek ordinarily gets much rainfall; December is the month that gets the most rain; July on the other hand is the driest. Going for a hike on the Washougal Trail is always a good adventure,

and you can go for a hike on the Green Leaf Trail.
That right there is heaps of fun things already but it goes on, the Northern Cascade Range has it all. For the period of the days of summer here at Stebbins Creek, high temperatures regularly get into the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures descend down into the 50's. Daytime highs all through the winter are in the 40's; nighttime lows at Stebbins Creek during the wintertime ordinarily drop into the 30's.
