The natural beauty of Washington and the cool fresh water make the trip here worthwhile. The Agnes Creek to Lake Chelan stretch is the only paddling stretch along Stehekin River. Getting your paddling muscles activated and spending some quality time in nature are great reasons to come. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking     here in Washington are often tougher than in other states, so better not forget that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere. The river winds through the Northern Cascade Range and you get great scenery. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. You can enjoy this stretch more if you take your time, so pack your camp stove. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling rivers. Briefly about the general area: Summertime at Stehekin River comes with high temperatures in the 70's. During the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 50's. Throughout the winter highs are in the 30's while Stehekin River night low temperatures through the wintertime   are in the 20's. Stehekin River gets a lot of water; the wettest month of the year is generally November, that's the one that rains the most, and July is when it's the driest. Don't leave Stehekin River without first going for a hike along the Rainbow Lake Trail.
