This stretch of Stehekin River in Chelan County is 10 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class II(IV) section of whitewater. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just being out on the river for a while have people coming from far and near. Whitewater paddling here in the Northern Cascade Range is a great experience. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either     way there are lots of good places for that around here. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. The natural beauty of Washington and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. You can enjoy this section more if you take your time, so go ahead and pack your camping stuff. There's camping available near Stehekin River. The Agnes Creek to Lake Chelan section is the only paddling section along Stehekin River. Briefly about the general area: Stehekin River gets a lot of water; of all the months in a year November is the one with the most rain, and July meanwhile is the driest month. Near Stehekin River you locate the Rainbow Lake Trail   which is a magnificent hiking trail. During the summer highs here at Stehekin River get into the 70's. Summer nighttime lows descend down to the 50's. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 30's with temperatures at Stehekin River dipping down into the 20's during winter nights.
