The scenic beauty of Washington and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. The beauty of the Olympic Mountains is a great plus for this river. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Washington are harder than the national norm, so if you're not from around     here don't forget that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. The C-1066 Road to Clearwater Campground section is the only paddling section along Stequaleho River. This stretch has has enough mileage, you can easily run it on an afternoon. The put-in is not too far from Port Angeles, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. The campgrounds here at Stequaleho River are pretty good. Great exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors have a lot of people coming here. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling spots. Briefly about the general area: The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 70's to Stequaleho River while nighttime lows are generally in the 40's. All through the winter highs are in the 40's with temperatures   at Stequaleho River dipping down into the 30's throughout winter nights. Stequaleho River gets a good deal of water; the month of December is the wettest with most of the rain, and August on the other hand is the driest.
