  The starting location is a reasonable drive from Port Angeles, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Washington tend to be more challenging than the national average, so don't forget that rivers here are less forgiving. This stretch of Stequaleho River is 4 miles long and has been rated as a class II-III(V+) section by American Whitewater. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this is an area with plenty of places for that. On this section you do
    get some distance, you can easily run it on an afternoon. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. Getting a good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors will have you coming back for more. The C-1066 Road to Clearwater Campground section is the only
paddling section along Stequaleho River. The beautiful Olympic Mountains scenery is an added bonus. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. The natural beauty of Jefferson County and the water flowing gracefully down Stequaleho River are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle.

At Stequaleho River throughout the summertime months highs are in the 70's. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures sink down into the 40's.
 
High temperatures all through the wintertime are normally in the 40's, and after the sun is down through the winter temperatures at Stequaleho River plunge into the 30's.
Stequaleho River is a wet place that gets much rainfall; the wettest month of the year is frequently December, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest month of the year is August.
