The beautiful scenery of Washington and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream beats anything. If you're coming from Port Angeles it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. The Olympic Mountains scenery is wonderful. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling rivers. This is the only paddling stretch along Stequaleho River. This stretch has has enough mileage, suitable for an afternoon trip. For all you camping people
there are campgrounds nearby. A bit of exercise and just being out on the river for a while will make you glad you came. This section of Stequaleho River in Washington is 4 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class II-III(V+) section. Whitewater rafting
and kayaking in Washington is often more difficult than elsewhere, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car.
