Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Washington tend to be more challenging than the national average, so don't forget that rivers here are less forgiving. This stretch of Stequaleho River is 4 miles long and has been rated as a class II-III(V+) section by American Whitewater. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this is an area with plenty of places for that. On this section you do
get some distance, you can easily run it on an afternoon. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. Getting a good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors will have you coming back for more. The C-1066 Road to Clearwater Campground section is the only
paddling section along Stequaleho River. The beautiful Olympic Mountains scenery is an added bonus. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. The natural beauty of Jefferson County and the water flowing gracefully down Stequaleho River are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle.
