This section of Stequaleho River is 4 miles long and is a class II-III(V+) section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The scenic beauty of Washington and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. The beauty of the Olympic Mountains is a great plus for this river. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Washington are harder than the national norm, so if you're not from around
here don't forget that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. The C-1066 Road to Clearwater Campground section is the only paddling section along Stequaleho River. This stretch has has enough mileage, you can easily run it on an afternoon. The put-in is not too far from Port
Angeles, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. The campgrounds here at Stequaleho River are pretty good. Great exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors have a lot of people coming here. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling spots.
