  Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often more difficult than elsewhere, so better not forget that a large number of rivers in this state are not easy. The natural beauty of Snohomish County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are reasons enough to come here and paddle. The Deer Creek to Mallardy Creek stretch of Stillaguamish River - South Fork in Snohomish County is 6.5 miles long and is a class II section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just being out
    on the river for a while are great attractions for lots of people. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. The wild scenery of the Northern Cascade
Range is great. On this section you do get some distance, it's good length for a morning trip. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling places. There are so many sections to paddle in this river system, the Deer Creek to Mallardy Creek section is just one of many. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby.
