The starting location is a reasonable drive from Mount Vernon-Anacortes, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. The wonderful Washington scenery and the playfulness of the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. This stretch is mid length, good for a one day paddling trip. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. The beauty of the Northern Cascade Range is a great plus for this river.
