The nature scenery of Snohomish County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water make the trip here worthwhile. This stretch of Stillaguamish River - South Fork in Washington is 9.1 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class II section. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often more difficult than elsewhere, so if you're not from around here don't forget that a large number of rivers in this state are not easy. This stretch is mid length, it's perfect for a one day trip. The put-in is not too far from Mount
Vernon-Anacortes, as you can see on the road map further down. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while are great reasons to come. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting
or kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good rivers. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. This river system is full of great paddling sections, the Granite Falls to Jordan section is just one of them. The wild scenery of the Northern Cascade Range is great.
