Washington whitewater - Suiattle River, Northern Cascade Range, Snohomish/Skagit County
Snohomish/Skagit
county,
Sulphur Creek to Rat Trap Bridge section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.
CLASS III+ 16 miles
The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master in this state than those in other states, so keep in mind that rivers here are less forgiving. This stretch of Suiattle River in Snohomish/Skagit County is 16 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class III+ section of whitewater. The river winds through the Northern Cascade Range and you get great scenery. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just
hanging out with mother nature will make you glad you came. The wonderful Washington scenery and the playfulness of the water beats anything. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way there are lots of good rivers for that around here. If you have the
time you can make this a two day trip, so why not pack your camping stuff too. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. The Sulphur Creek to Rat Trap Bridge stretch is the only paddling stretch along Suiattle River.
