Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Washington is often tougher than elsewhere, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but you'd better reserve in advance
because these hotels fill up quick. There are some good stretches to paddle in this river system, the Mill Pond to North Fork Sullivan stretch is one of them. This is an extremely short stretch so it's not like you're gonna
spend hours on the river in one stretch. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. The natural beauty of Pend Oreille County and the cool fresh water will make you feel great. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are not so many other good places for that around here. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while are sure to keep you coming back for more. This stretch of Sullivan River is 1.3
miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class II section of whitewater.
