  The average Washington whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be harder to run than those in other states, so keep in mind that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. The beautiful scenery of Pend Oreille County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water attract people from near and far. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you won't find many other paddling spots. Not too many
    hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. The starting point is not too far from Spokane, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further
down the page. This is a somewhat short section so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. The North Fork Sullivan to Highway 31 section of Sullivan River in Washington is 1.7 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class V section. The North Fork Sullivan to Highway 31 section is one of a few paddling sections in this river  
system. Getting a good workout and just hanging out with mother nature have a lot of people coming here.

Briefly about the general area:
Hiking is a popular thing to do around Sullivan River; Terry Trail is a splendid local trail. A visit to Deadmans Eddy in the vicinity of Sullivan River is always a splendid idea; while you're here you will meet lots of people from nearby Metaline Falls. This river is a great place to visit. Around Sullivan River you donít get a lot of precipitation. December is when you get the most snow here, and September is the month with the least moisture.
