The natural beauty of Lewis County and the cool fresh water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. The Soda Springs to Highway 123 stretch of Summit Creek is 5 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class V+ section. Getting a good workout and just being out on the river for a while have a lot of people coming here. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Washington is often tougher than elsewhere, so better not forget that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots. This is a pretty decent length section, it's good length for a morning trip. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. There are no other sections to paddle along
Summit Creek than the Soda Springs to Highway 123 section. Whitewater paddling here in the Northern Cascade Range is a great experience. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp.
Briefly about the general area: Summit Creek generally gets a lot of precipitation; the month with most of the snow is January; the driest month of the year is July. So many entertaining things in the Northern Cascade Range, just inspiring. Have a great hiking adventure along the Sheep Lake Trail, and hiking along the Boundary Trail is nice
