The natural beauty of Lewis County and the playfulness of the water attract people from near and far. This section of Summit Creek in Washington is 5 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class V+ section of whitewater. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. This is the only paddling stretch along Summit Creek. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. Getting a good workout and
spending some quality time in nature are great attractions for lots of people. This is a pretty decent length section, it's good length for a morning trip. The average Washington whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be harder to run than those in other states, so if you're
not from around here don't forget that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good places for that around here. When you're paddling down a Northern Cascade Range river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too.

Throughout the summer months at Summit Creek highs are usually in the 70's; the night is slightly chillier of course, typically in the 40's. Highs through the wintertime are usually in the 30's while Summit Creek nighttime low temperatures during the wintertime are in the 20's. This river is always fun.
