The wonderful Yakima County scenery and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of spots for that. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often tougher than in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners.     Getting a good workout and just hanging out with mother nature are great reasons to come. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. The river winds through the Northern Cascade Range and you get great scenery. There's camping available near Tieton River. There are a few other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. You can enjoy this section more if you take your time, so pack your camping stuff. Briefly about the general area: Tieton River is a wet site that gets much rainfall; January is the month that gets the most rain, and July on the other hand is the driest. For the period of the months of summer, highs ordinarily are in the 70's at Tieton River. For the duration of   the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 50's. High temperatures through the winter are normally in the 40's, and overnight lows at Tieton River through the winter mostly fall into the 20's.
