The starting location is a reasonable drive from Ellensburg, as you can see on the road map further down. This is one of a small number of paddling sections in this river system, there are a few others too. The natural beauty of Yakima County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. The Windy Point Campground     to Naches stretch of Tieton River in Washington is 8.5 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class II-III section. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. On this section you do get some distance, good for a one day paddling trip. Getting your paddling muscles activated and a chance to spend some time outdoors will make you glad you came.
